FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Our cost is $65 per person. We offer our Early Bird Special ($5 off) all day on Monday as well as our 8:00 a.m. reservation Tuesday – Friday and our 9:00 a.m. reservation on Saturdays. (Prices are subject to change without notice.)

Q. Do you offer group rates?
A. Yes. If you have a group of 6 or more parasailers, we take off an additional $5 off each parasailer. If you take advantage of the Early Bird Special and have a party of 6 or more, the cost will be $10 off per person.

Q. When are you open (days and times)?
A. We are open for parasailing Monday through Saturday and are closed every Sunday. (Sorry, it does not matter how good the bribe or sob story.) We parasail by reservations starting at 8:00 a.m. and run until our last reservation. We are available to take reservations Monday – Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and Sunday after 3:00 p.m.

North Location: Reservations taken for on the hour (or half hour when running the shuttle boat)

South Location: Reservations taken for every hour and a half

Q. Can two people fly together?
A. Yes. We call that our tandem ride and the two people have their own harness and life jackets and are attached to a tandem bar to fly side by side. We fly people tandem all the time. However, the ultimate decision is made by the captain once he sees the combined weight of the two people and the conditions (winds, seas, etc.) at the time of the reservation.

Q. How long is a parasail ride?
A. If you fly by yourself, the ride is 8 – 10 minutes from the time you leave the deck, and 10 – 12 minutes if you fly tandem.

Q. How long does the whole thing take?
A. If we have a full boat of 6 parasailers, everyone will go out and take turns parasailing and then come back in. At the north location, it takes about 1 hour from dock to dock with a full boat of six. At the south location, it takes about 1 ½ hours from dock to dock with a full boat of six.

Q. Is there a weight limit?
A. Generally not. However, for tandem rides it ultimately depends on the conditions (winds, seas, etc.) at the time of your reservation. The captains make the final decision.

Q. Is there an age limit?
A. Yes…Ages 3 to 105 years old. The younger or lighter parasailers will go up with an older sibling, friend or adult for more weight in the parasail.

Q. How high do you go?
A. Between 300 to 500 feet. However, if you want to stay lower just talk to the captain before you leave the deck. The lighthouse is about 172 feet or so. You definitely get a nice view of the island. On clear days you can even see Atlantic City from the parasail.

Q. Do you have kids’ rates?
A. No. The rates are the same for adults and kids since we are limited to 6 people per reservation.

Q. Can I bring my camera?
A. Yes. However, we are not responsible for items that get wet, lost or damaged.

We offer a photo packages. Our crewmen (who usually have better sea legs) take 12 exposures of film from our zoom lens camera and then give you the roll to take and develop. The cost for the photo package is $10.

Q. Can people go on the boat who are not parasailing?
A. We are limited to 6 people per reservation. However, if there are not 6 parasailers, we can take observers. The cost for an observer is $20 for the boat ride. If we do get other parasailers for that reservation, observers will be bumped and they can go to the beach and watch. (Sometimes in July and August there is NO room for observers. We cannot make ANY guarantees that observers will be allowed on the boat.)

Q. Is there a better time to parasail?
A. No. Anytime is great except during a lightning storm.

Q. What do I wear parasailing?
A. Swim suit, T-shirt and shoes you can easily slip off and leave at the dock before loading the boat.

Q. Do I have to get wet?
A. No. We have a custom built parasail boat with a platform on the back. It’s a dry take off and dry landing on the back of the platform. However, if you want to get wet, you can request to be dipped. Ask us about our “Birthday Dip”.

Q. What if the weather is bad the day/time of my reservation?
A. Give us a call if you are questioning whether or not we are going out. The captains will decide if the conditions are suitable for parasailing. We do not parasail when there is lightning or in high winds and rough seas. We still parasail when it’s overcast/cloudy and in light, passing rain. If we know before your reservation that we are not operating we will give you a call.

Q. How safe is parasaililng?
A. It is very safe. The worst case scenario is that the rope would break, but you are in a parasail (that needs tension to stay up) and you would float down into the ocean and the captain would pick you up immediately. You are also wearing a life jacket. It’s very gentle. We perform monthly preventative maintenance to avoid such a scenario.

Q. Should I be concerned about riding on the shuttle boat or making the transfer to the parasail boat?
A. No. However, if you have a health or physical condition that we should know about, please advise us when making your reservation so that we can best schedule you.

Q. How far in advance do we need to (or can we) make reservations?
A. Usually we take reservations a few days in advance. This is because people are on vacation and they may forget if they make a reservation too far in advance. We also take your credit card number to reserve and if you do not show up for the reservation there is a charge of $20 per flyer to the card.
You can make a reservation as early as a week in advance.

Q. Do you sell Gift Certificates?
